PR Case Study: Palo Alto Networks - Predictions 2026 and Chinese New Year Media Lunch

February 9, 2026

The Client
Palo Alto Networks, the global AI and cybersecurity leader, is trusted by more than 70,000 organisations worldwide and provides comprehensive AI-powered security solutions across network, cloud, security operations and AI.

The Challenge
As enterprises accelerate adoption of AI-driven technologies, Palo Alto Networks sought to reinforce its position as a trusted authority on the future of cybersecurity in Hong Kong and needed a clear, credible platform to share its 2026 cybersecurity predictions while maintaining strong relationships with key technology and business media.

Objectives
- Launch Palo Alto Networks’ 2026 Cybersecurity Predictions that resonates

- Engage senior journalists in meaningful discussions ahead of the Lunar New Year, strengthening long-term media relationships.

Our Approach
Eight PR planned and delivered a media lunch designed to balance thought leadership with relationship building.

Hosted at The Refinery, a private member’s club in Taikoo Place (and also a client), the event brought together leading Tier 1 enterprise technology journalists in a relaxed setting that encouraged open dialogue.

The briefing was led by Palo Alto Network’s Wickie Fung, Managing Director, Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area, who presented the predictions in Cantonese, ensuring the insights were accessible and giving the media the ability to use direct quotes.

The format ensured there was time for questions during and after the presentation, allowing journalists the opportunity to digest the information and develop their questions and observations in a relaxed environment.

The Execution
Eight PR managed all aspects of the event, from media invitations and confirmations to on-site arrangements and coordination. The briefing started on time and ran smoothly, with no technical or audio issues.

All eight confirmed media representatives attended, demonstrating strong interest in both the topic and Palo Alto Networks’ perspective. Wickie Fung guided the media through the predictions addressing questions on browser security, quantum readiness, AI coding agents, regulatory compliance, and the evolving role of human expertise in cybersecurity.

The Results

The media lunch generated immediate and high impact coverage across Hong Kong’s most influential technology media, firmly positioning Palo Alto Networks as a thought leader on cybersecurity. In fact, the first coverage appeared within the hour following the event.

Sample Coverage
Articles highlighted key themes including AI agents as a double-edged sword, identity verification as a critical security battleground in 2026, the growing urgency of quantum threats, and the browser’s emergence as a new enterprise security frontier.

Key Takeaways
Delivering the briefing in Cantonese significantly increased engagement and depth of questioning, while the smaller media group encouraged informed and meaningful discussion. Pairing senior local leadership with a conversational format proved highly effective in translating complex technical insights into clear, newsworthy stories.

What’s Next
Eight PR continues to monitor coverage and leverage the momentum from the briefing to support Palo Alto Networks’ ongoing thought leadership and media engagement strategy in Hong Kong.
